How Cedar Wharf Financial Advice collects and uses personal data. Last updated August 2026.
Data controller
Cedar Wharf Financial Advice is the data controller for personal information submitted via smartdevsys.digital. Contact: hello@smartdevsys.digital, +44-2-066-8420, 10004 Brady Stream, Parker-on-Bednar, Wales, United Kingdom.
Data we collect
When you enquire, we may collect your name, email address, phone number if provided, preferred meeting window, consultation interest, and the message content you write. If you become a client, we collect additional financial information under a separate client agreement and privacy schedule.
Purposes and lawful bases
We process enquiry data to respond to your request (legitimate interests in operating a financial advice practice, and steps toward a contract). We process cookie preferences as described in our cookie notice. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Unsuccessful enquiries are normally retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised. Client files are retained for periods required by UK financial services regulation and our insurers — typically at least five years after the end of the advice relationship, longer where pension transfer records require it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or portability where applicable, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). To exercise rights, email hello@smartdevsys.digital.
International transfers
We store enquiry data on systems located in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area where possible. If a provider stores data outside those regions, we require appropriate safeguards such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or equivalent clauses.
Sharing
We share data with IT and email providers who process it on our instructions, and with professional parties (solicitors, accountants, product providers) only when you ask us to or when advice delivery requires it. We disclose information if required by law or regulators.
Children
Our services are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children through this website.
